Acting Governor Heru Encourages Enforcement of Safe and Comfortable Commercial Areas

Jakarta Acting Governor, Heru Budi Hartono emphasized that the Jakarta Provincial Government is committed to creating a commercial area that is safe, comfortable, and complies with applicable regulations. He also appreciated residents who care about the environment.

It was conveyed in response to the polemic that arose after the demolition of the building which was deemed to have violated the rules at the Pasar Muara Karang Shopping Housing Complex or what is known as Ruko Niaga Pluit, Jalan Pluit Karang Niaga, Block Z-4 North and Z-8 South, RT 011/003, Pluit Urban Village, Penjaringan, North Jakarta.

"I continue to support the steps of all parties, including the RT to uphold a safe and comfortable commercial area. Surely, all buildings must be in accordance with the designation and zoning set by the government," he expressed, as quoted by Jakarta PPID's press release, Tuesday (5/30).

The government hoped that this step would be fully supported by all elements of society, including RT/RW to create a comfortable and safe trading environment.

"All parties always maintain good communication. Prioritize community meetings at the sub-district level," he concluded.

As for information, the Jakarta Government continues to make efforts to arrange the area according to regulations. Building designations that do not comply with applicable regulations will receive warnings and administrative sanctions. For instance, the latest was the demolition of a building that violated the rules at the Pasar Muara Karang Shopping Complex, also known as Niaga Pluit Shop House.

Regarding the demolition or re-function of the building, the North Jakarta Administration Cipta Karya, Spatial Planning, and Land Agency Agency has issued a Technical Recommendation Letter (Rekomtek) Number e-0001/PA.01.00. This activity is carried out to restore the area according to its function or according to zoning provisions, namely waterways and roads. This is a real commitment from the Jakarta Government in enforcing rules as an effort to re-function zoning.
